It's been a whirlwind three days since I jumped into the world of Substack, and I wanted to share some insights, cool wins, and my personal takeaways from this fresh venture.
First off, a little bit about why I’m here: I’m a big believer in the power of video and multimedia to create meaningful content. That’s my jam. So, I started sharing daily notes, mixing in tips, encouragement, trends, and some Q&A. It's been a fantastic way to reconnect with folks in real-time. Oh, and I posted my first video podcast which automatically also went to YouTube—talk about efficiency!
I’ve spent some time exploring Substack too, following friends and curating my feed to discover more inspiring creators. Here's what's interesting: traditional writers aren’t too thrilled about video content taking over. Substack still has a very text-first vibe. However, I can see a lot of potential for multimedia to flourish here, thanks to the platform’s features designed for that purpose. I’ve also noticed that the big followings are often tied to people teaching about how to leverage Substack. There’s a whole ecosystem of courses and monetization strategies around it right now, which is fascinating.
Looking ahead, I have some hopes for this platform. I want to see more inclusivity for different types of media—writing, podcasting, videos, you name it. My goal is to help create a safe space for creators to use multimedia formats responsibly and strategically. If Substack proves to be a great hub for growth, visibility, and community the way I envision, I’d love to migrate more of my content here.
So that’s my quick recap! If you're already on Substack, I’d love to hear about your biggest takeaways. Drop a comment and let’s chat! Curiosity piqued about how video fits into Substack? Stick around—I’ll have more insights coming soon as I continue this journey. Have a fabulous day!
