What's the Deal with Google Veo 3?
Before You Invest in Google’s Veo 3: What Service Providers Need to Know About AI Video Tools
I don’t usually share this type of post on Thursdays, but I got a lot of DMs recently for a short AI video clip I shared on Facebook asking how I did it. So I’m breaking down what’s happening in this update.
If you've been hearing about Google’s new Veo 3 AI video tool and wondering what the fuss is about, here’s a quick explainer in plain language.
TLDR Summary: Google’s Veo 3 is an advanced AI tool that turns short text prompts into videos with sound — including music, voices, and lip-syncing. But at $249/month, it’s only available to premium users and still in early access. For most coaches, service providers, and video-first business owners, it’s important to evaluate whether this level of AI video generation fits your goals, tech readiness, and content workflow.
Veo 3: A Simple Breakdown
If you're a coach, course creator, or service-based entrepreneur using video to build your brand and attract clients, you’ve probably heard about AI tools that promise to “generate video from text.” Google’s Veo is one of the leaders in this space — and its newest version, Veo 3, is making headlines.
But before you consider signing up for Google’s AI Ultra Plan ($249/month), let’s do a quick and dirty walk through of what Veo actually is, what’s new in Veo 3, and what to think about before making the investment.
Veo = Google’s tool that turns your text into a short video.
You type what you want to see, and it generates a video clip based on your prompt.

Do you see how realistic this is? Wow, just wow.
Now What is Veo Again?
Veo is Google’s AI video generation tool that creates short video clips from plain-text prompts. You type in a description like, “a woman walking through a forest at sunset”, and Veo generates a short video (usually around 8 seconds) to match.
There are currently two versions in use:
Veo 2:
The "baseline" version used in tools like Gemini AI Pro, Whisk Animate, and Google Vids
Produces short video clips (5–8 seconds) with no sound
Works well for visual storytelling, but requires you to add music or voice separately
Often used by marketers, educators, and video-first professionals looking to quickly create B-roll or concept visuals
Included in more affordable subscriptions like Gemini AI Pro (~$20/month)
Veo 3 Preview:
Currently available only via the $249/month Google AI Ultra plan or through developer tools like Vertex AI (although right now it’s on sale for 3 months)
Adds native audio — music, ambient sounds, voiceovers, even lip-sync
Automatically rewrites prompts under 30 words (can’t be turned off), which means less control unless you write longer, more specific prompts
Limit: Most users are reporting 4–5 videos per day
If you use video to market your services or teach online, this is one to watch. Veo 3 could eventually make AI-powered talking videos a part of your everyday content creation.
Is Veo 3 Worth It for Your Business?
Veo 3 is exciting — but it’s not for everyone, especially not at this early preview stage. If you’re a coach or service provider using content to connect and convert, here are some key questions to ask:
1. Are you already getting results from video?
If you’re not yet consistent with video, it might be better to build your foundations (strategy, gear, audience clarity) before layering in advanced tools like Veo.
2. Do you have a plan for integrating Veo content into your marketing?
Because Veo’s outputs are short and AI-generated, you’ll want to know how they’ll fit into your funnel — as teasers, B-roll, social snippets, etc.
3. Is sound generation a must-have for your current workflow?
Veo 3’s biggest advantage is native audio. If you’re already using tools like Canva or Descript and adding sound manually works fine, Veo 3 may not yet be a necessary upgrade.
4. Are you okay with daily video limits and evolving features?
Even with the $249 plan, most users only get 4–5 videos per day. As a preview model, Veo 3 is still evolving — which means the experience may change frequently.

For now, I am cautiously watching how this plays out. I haven’t decided yet, but I may test out the Ultra AI subscription for a month or two, just to see if it fits my business model, which is… yeah, video.
